Martin Campbell and Julie Macpherson will begin the Scottish charge at the TOTAL BWF World Championships when they appear on the opening day of the tournament, in Glasgow.
The mixed double’s pair are third on court one against the Swedish duo of Nico Ruponen and Amanda Hogstrom at the Emirates Arena on Monday, August 21.
Kieran Merrilees will be on the same court after 3pm when he faces two-time Olympic gold medallist Lin Dan in the tenth match of the day, with England’s Rajiv Ouseph on two contests later.
The Scottish pair of Rebekka Findlay and Caitlin Pringle follow Ouseph in the schedule, though their match against France’s Emilie Lefel and Anne Tran won’t be before 5pm.
Elsewhere on day one, England’s Fontaine Chapman is seventh on court two for her first round match against Luise Heim of Germany while Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh begin their campaign third on court three.
The English mixed double’s pair face Netherlands’ Robin Tabeling and Cheryl Seinen on Monday morning while Chloe Birch is eighth on court four against India’s Tanvi Lad.
There’s further English interest, on court five, on the Championships’ opening day with Gregory Mairs and Jenny Moore facing Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Herttrich of Germany, around 1pm.
Lauren Smith and Sarah Walker follow their compatriots in the women’s doubles again facing German opposition in the form of Lisa Kaminski and Hannah Pohl.
Martin Campbell returns to the Emirates Arena alongside men’s doubles partner Patrick Machugh on Tuesday with the pair scheduled to be on court one around 3pm.
While England’s Jenny Moore and Victoria Williams follow Campbell and Machugh onto court one with Scotland’s Matthew Carder also getting his tournament underway on day two.
He faces Russian Vladimir Malkov in the last scheduled match on court one for Tuesday.
Macpherson and Eleanor O’Donnell are seventh on court two on day two of the tournament for their first round match against Nadia Fankhauser and Sannatasah Saniru.
Also on Tuesday, fifth seeds Chris and Gabby Adcock open their mixed doubles account with the third match on court one – after Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei – having received a bye in the first round.
Fellow English stars Peter Briggs and Tom Wolfenden are fifth on court three against the Chinese Taipei pair of Liao Kuan Hao and Lu Chia Pin, with Toby Penty facing sixth seed Chou Tien Chen on the same court.
